A History of Kiwanis Baseball
The Western Kiwanis Youth Baseball Program started operations with eight teams in 1952. The League was composed of 13- through 18-year-olds playing baseball on a major league-sized diamond.
In 1987 a thirteen-year-old prep league was formed. This league is aimed at orienting and training young players to play on a major league-sized diamond.
The Western Kiwanis Youth Baseball Program provides an opportunity for 350-400 Kenosha young people to play summer baseball.
Monetary support for the program comes from the Kiwanis Club of Western Kenosha Foundation. Other funds for the program are raised through team sponsorships by various local businesses and organizations, player fees and other fund raising activities.
Managers and coaches are all volunteers and they have made a tremendous contribution to this league throughout the years. We are very proud of our baseball complex at Nash Park, which is our base of operations. Western Kiwanis was instrumental in the establishment of this multi-diamond, lighted complex. We hope to continue providing this excellent program to Kenosha youth for many years to come.
